Some images from recent installations
Below are a few of the recent projects undertaken by Berkshire Renewable Energy. We will continue to add brief explanations and images in order to give you some idea of what an installation entails and what the outcome looks like. Grimbury Castle
This was a complex project retrofitting a modern, energy efficient system into a very old building of irregular shapes.
The walls were insulated prior to pipework installation. The underfloor heating and screeding downstairs was complemented by a radiator system upstairs. New bathrooms were installed.
Hot water came courtesy of an unvented high efficiency cylinder and the system is powered by a Clivet Air Source Heat Pump
2 Church Cottage
Again this project was to retro fit a modern efficient energy solution into a building that wasnt designed for it.
The project included a lot of insulation with under floor heating downstairs and radiators to the upper floor.
Hot water is via a high efficiency unvented cylinder and heating is via a Clivet Air Source Heat Pump.
Renovation of a pair of Estate Bungalows
A recently completed renovation of a pair of old estate bungalows.
The energy side of things was covered by us and included Under Floor Heating, heat pumps and to supplement the electricity feed we fitted solar panels to the roof.
Renovation of an Estate Cottage
This is a renovation on the Englefield Estate of a cottage providing it with a modern efficient air sourced heat pumped system complete with under floor heating.
A retrofit of a new heating system
This was a retro fit project which included upsizing all of the radiators.
This was combined with a new heat pump and cylinder.
Also the property had a plunge pool which we managed to heat via the same heat pump using 2 three way diverter valves and some intricate wiring!!
Estate cottage
renovation to include heating and hot water systems with a mix of radiators and UFH serviced by heat pump.
This estate cottage was given a complete new modern heating system by Berkshire Renewables.
Radiators upstairs and under floor heating downstairs plus a new cylinder and heat pump.
On the ground floor BR supplied and installed the insulation, UFH and poured liquid screed to provide a perfect surface for internal flooring of all styles.
Brooks Farm
Bungalow
This is a bungalow originally constructed in the 1970's in which we have fitted the following:
Under Floor Heating
7 KW Clivet heat pump
18 PV Solar panels with battery storage.
Floor insulation with liquid screed.
As a result of the work the house has now achieved an ECP energy rating A.
Bothampstead Cottage
This is a recent installation and features a direct system design.
This uses the newest technology available and is highly efficient.
This was a Samsung heat pump using a direct system design in place of buffers or low loss header.
This is extremely effective and can reduce running costs by up to 40% over a standard design.
Ashridge Cottages
This pair of period cottages were both fully refurbished during 2021/2.
The heat pumps used in both homes were Samsung paired with Joule pre plumbed cylinders.
These are extremely efficient units dramatically reducing overall running costs.
Trumplets Farm
The farmhouse was an extensive refurbishment undertaken in 2021 and carried out to a very high standard.
The system was designed and installed by us using a Grant Aerona heat pump and a Grant Monowave cylinder with buffer.
This worked exceptionally well with the underfloor heating throughout this period property and drastically reduced the customers running costs.
